On January 14 and 15, 2025, the partners of the DiTL project gathered in Paris for their first in-person transnational meeting, organized by AFT, the project coordinator. This event marked an important milestone, as it allowed consortium members to meet face-to-face after several months of remote collaboration.
Over two productive days, the partners shared the initial findings of their national research on regulations and inclusive measures promoting the integration of people with disabilities in the transport and logistics sector.
The discussions were structured around two workshops:
🔹 Workshop 1 – National Regulations and Definitions of Disability
Despite the existence of common European directives, each Member State applies its own approach, with specific criteria and legislation. Each partner presented the main regulatory concepts and definitions in their country related to the employment of people with disabilities, highlighting both differences and common ground.
🔹 Workshop 2 – Access to Driving Licenses and Warehouse Professions
The partners compared the procedures for obtaining different categories of driving licenses in their respective countries, as well as how Directive 2006/126/EC – particularly Annex 3 on “Minimum standards of physical and mental fitness to drive a motor vehicle” – has been transposed into national law. The workshop also addressed requirements and recommendations for access to warehouse-related jobs.

Following the presentations, small working groups were formed to identify best practices, gaps, and similarities. These discussions will serve as a foundation for the comparative analysis to be developed as part of the project.
In addition to the workshops, the meeting also achieved the following objectives:
- Defining a clear roadmap for the upcoming months,
- Structuring the initial phases for producing the first project deliverables,
- Establishing a communication and dissemination strategy,
- Clarifying administrative and financial procedures, as well as methods for monitoring and evaluating the project’s quality and outcomes.
📍 Next step: Lisbon in November 2025
The consortium will meet again in Lisbon for the next transnational meeting. In the meantime, several videoconferences will be held to continue project activities remotely.
