Advancing Accessibility in Transport and Logistics Across Europe: The DiTL Project

The DiTL project (Developing Inclusive Transport and Logistics), part of the Agence Erasmus+ France / Education Formation programme, represents a powerful movement toward greater inclusion and accessibility in transport and logistics training and employment across Europe.

At the heart of this initiative is the belief that everyone should have equal access to professional opportunities in one of Europe’s most essential and dynamic sectors. Through collaborative action and strategic partnerships, DiTL is working to make this vision a reality.

A Key Partner: CHEOPS Conseil Handicap et Emploi des OPS

One of the key project partners, CHEOPS—the national council for disability and employment in France—is playing a pivotal role in improving accessibility to both training pathways and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

In France, initiatives led by France Travail and Cap Emploi are already underway to ensure training centres are equipped to welcome and support disabled learners. These efforts are being expanded through DiTL to reach a wider European audience and foster cross-border learning and innovation.

Strategic Collaboration to Meet Industry Needs

CHEOPS has also signed a landmark partnership agreement with the Organisation of European Road Transporters and France Travail, aligning efforts to respond to the growing workforce demands in the road freight and passenger transport sectors.

Together, these partners are focused on delivering targeted and impactful actions, including:

  • Strengthening employer networks and providing dedicated recruitment support
  • Mobilising recruitment services to better meet the specific needs of companies, particularly SMEs and VSEs
  • Promoting career pathways and employment opportunities within the transport and logistics sectors
  • Developing customised training programmes that are aligned with current and future industry needs
  • Supporting inclusion and job security for people with disabilities across the sector

Building a More Inclusive Future

By working together, DiTL and its partners are taking a major step forward in breaking down the barriers to employment and training that many individuals with disabilities continue to face.

This initiative is more than a response to labour market needs—it is a commitment to a fairer and more inclusive society, where transport and logistics careers are truly open to all.
